Confessions of an American Girl

Ok ok...I have to start this post with a confession that I am very ashamed about. I just beg of you not to judge me too harshly!

So...This second week in Rome we no longer had dinner at our hotel but were free to explore the streets and their many restaurants to get more of a "taste of italy."

Sounds prime right?

So dinner time rolled around on Tuesday (September 4) and Sharissa and I were starving so we hit the streets. After walking for half an hour or so and having our stomachs scream for our attention, we still couldn't find a place. It was one of those nights where you're starving but not really in the mood for anything and nothing really sounded good ya know? So as you can imagine we were not being very successful.
Well low and behold, I saw this beauty looming up ahead of me...

yes here in Italy they have signs to tell you how close you are to the McDonalds...like a treasure map

Yes I can sense your disbelief. But it is what it is!
So I am ashamed to admit that while being in Italy, surrounded by the most delicious food and freshest ingredients I have ever beheld, I had dinner at McDonalds.
And I did not regret it one bit!
Even the Mckeey D's here is classy! It was the best McDonalds meal I have ever had.

(In all seriousness though...it really was the best McDonalds I have ever tasted. Their McCafe is fabulous with hot chocolate and yummy pastries and the whole place is decorated super hip and modern. Not to mention they put ice in their drinks, and the water and bathrooms are free!! I strongly suggest a stop here whenever you next visit Europe...just sayin)
